Mark Roesler To speak at Kelley School of Business Commencement

Mark Roesler will deliver the Commencement address to the Indiana University Kelley Graduate School of Business on May 10th.
The Kelley School is consistently ranked among the country’s best business schools by publications like Business Week, U.S. News & World Report, and the Wall Street Journal. The graduate ceremony will take place Sunday, May 10th at noon at the Indianapolis Convention Center. Roesler will address the graduating class. This is the same school that Roesler graduated and received an MBA from in 1981.
“Roesler grew up in Alexandria, Ind., and attended DePauw University before graduating with his M.B.A./J.D. from the Kelley School of Business Indianapolis, part of the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) campus. Mark Roesler as guest speaker at Loyola Law School

Loyola’s Sports Law Institute will host the symposium, “Intellectual Property Issues in Sports,” on Friday, March 6, 2009 at the Law School from 8:30 am-1:30 pm.
The moderator is Professor Daniel E. Lazaroff, the Leonard Cohen Chair in Law and Economics and director of the Sports Law Institute. The first panel will focus on Copyright Issues in Sports, followed by panels focusing on Patent Issues in Sports, Trademark Issues in Sports and Rights of Publicity. Keith McKenna and Timothy McIlwain, McKenna McIlwain LLP, will speak about the Jim Brown litigation. Alumnus David Weinberg ‘93, NFL Properties, will focus on Sponsorship and Licensing Issues in the NFL. The symposium will conclude with a Getting Sports Law Jobs panel. Speakers include Robert Buch ‘73, Seyfarth Shaw; Ryan Boyle ‘07, CMG Worldwide; and David Weinberg.

With deep personal sadness I must announce that my dear friend and client Bettie Page passed away at 6:41pm PST this evening in a Los Angeles hospital.
She died peacefully but had never regained consciousness after suffering a heart attack nine days ago.
She captured the imagination of a generation of men and women with her free spirit and unabashed sensuality. She is the embodiment of beauty.

Mark shared a few of his thoughts on the recent legal battle between baseball card giants Topps and Upper Deck. CMG Worldwide owns the naming rights to over 50 of baseball’s greatest legends and because of this has become involved in the feud between the two card companies.
The interview also highlights the history of CMG Worldwide and the important legal battles Mark, as CEO, has spearheaded to turn his company into one of the most well known agencies of its kind.
