Loyola’s Sports Law Institute will host the symposium, “Intellectual Property Issues in Sports,” on Friday, March 6, 2009 at the Law School from 8:30 am-1:30 pm.
The moderator is Professor Daniel E. Lazaroff, the Leonard Cohen Chair in Law and Economics and director of the Sports Law Institute. The first panel will focus on Copyright Issues in Sports, followed by panels focusing on Patent Issues in Sports, Trademark Issues in Sports and Rights of Publicity. Keith McKenna and Timothy McIlwain, McKenna McIlwain LLP, will speak about the Jim Brown litigation. Alumnus David Weinberg ‘93, NFL Properties, will focus on Sponsorship and Licensing Issues in the NFL. The symposium will conclude with a Getting Sports Law Jobs panel. Speakers include Robert Buch ‘73, Seyfarth Shaw; Ryan Boyle ‘07, CMG Worldwide; and David Weinberg.
